ABSTRACT:Culture can be considered the soul of a nation. It serves as a launching pad for identityinformation of citizens living in a country. Culture encompasses the beliefs, customs, lifestyles, arts, languages,traditions, superstitions, and even the habits of the people. This research aimed to see some cultures from otherrace (particularly Korean) that are similar to the culture of the Filipino people that can be observed from someKorean Drama series. This attempts to understand why Filipinos are attracted to KDrama. This researchemployed a descriptive-qualitative method using content analysis to elicit various factors and similarities ofKorean cultures in Filipino culture from the three KDrama: Endless Love: Autumn in My Heart, Full House,and Descendants of the Sun. A thematic analysis was used to organize and interpret the data obtained from thecontent analysis. Based on the analysis conducted, it appears that the theme, fashion, and music of KDrama bythe Koreans have a big factor in the Filipinos’ attraction to KDrama. Researchers also found that some of theKorean cultures such as superstitions, beliefs, traditions and customs are similar to the Filipino culture. Basedon the data obtained, it is therefore concluded that KDramas contain relatable cultural factors that may be thereason why KDrama is fully accepted, loved, and enjoyed in the Philippines. Researchers therefore recommendto use KDrama in academic discussions through meaningful cultural exploration by combining multiculturalorientation in order for the present generation to have greater knowledge and appreciation about cultures.
