ONTOLOGIE MÉDICALE ET AXIOLOGIE CHEZ GEORGES CANGUILHEM

ABSTRACT:Georges Canguilhem’s thought is marked by a sustained and sometimes virulent criticism of theontological approach to reality. Yet, in his controversy against medical positivism, Canguilhem did not hesitateto consider himself from an ontological conception of illness thereby destroying the idea that denies any originality and theoretical dignity to the pathological state. How then can we understand this ontological Canguilhemian posture in pathology? Is it definitively established or does it constitute a stage in the author’s polemicalstrategy against medical positivism? We would like to show that, in fact, Canguilhem goes beyond the axiological overcoming of ontology.
