ABSTRACT: One of the most essential of the five macro skills that students must learn is reading. This skill will help guide students to deeply understand things from simple to complex, which they can apply in real-life situations. Therefore, this study aims to know the comprehension level of frustrated readers and discover the factors affecting their comprehension level among Grade 7 students. This study used a mixed-methods approach through Concurrent Research Analysis design and total enumeration sampling in selecting the participants. The participants were 21 students in grade 7 who garnered a 0-6 score from the post-test and were considered frustrated readers. According to the results of the study, students who were labeled as frustrated readers did not have the necessary skills or capacities to comprehend the material they were reading at all levels of difficulty. Furthermore, there are factors affecting the comprehension level of frustrated readers, with a grand mean of 2.80, which is moderately affecting; it involves time spent in reading, vocabulary familiarity, physical environment, and interest in reading. In addition, there were issues that hampered reading comprehension, including absences, parents’ ability to support their children‟s needs, responsibility at a young age, and time spent on mobile phones. Moreover, the researchers reached a conclusion and made recommendations for further research.
