SOLVING LINGUISTIC INSECURITY BY AN APPLICATION OF THE HAUGEN MODEL OF LANGUAGE PLANNING: THE CASE STUDY OF THE NDA’NDA’ LANGUAGE IN CAMEROON

ABSTRACT: In many Sub-African countries like Cameroon,local languages have been relegated essentially tothe family setting for basic communication. Most of these languages among which the NDA’NDA’ languagespoken in the western region of CAMEROON are non-homogeneous languages which are threaten of deathbecause not only the government is not putting in place sufficient measures an adequate planning for theirrevitalization but also their speakers are suffering from language insecurity. The HAUGEN’S language planningmodel comes as a solution for this speech community wherehenceforth,language will be used with assuranceand equipped for developing functions.
