SUICIDE IN THE IVORIAN CONTEXT: BETWEEN THE CRISIS OF SOCIAL TIES AND THE FRAGILITY OF MENTAL HEALTH IN THE DISTRICT OF ABIDJAN (COTE D’IVOIRE)

ABSTRACT: This study examines some of the social burdens of suicide in the Ivorian context. The study isessentially qualitative. Using a methodological approach based on documentary exploration and data collectionfrom field surveys (interviews) conducted among a category of actors in the district of Abidjan, the followingresult was obtained: Socio-psychological and cultural burdens interact to lead an individual to suicidalbehaviour.
