The Effect of Competence, Discipline and Work Ethic on Employee Performance of the Civil Service Police Unit and the Kerinci District Firefighters Department

ABSTRACT : This research is motivated by the low competence of employees, disciplinary violations that arestill considered normal by employees, employee work ethics that do not support employee performance, so thatemployee performance annually experiences instability and tends to decline which has an impact on theperformance of the Civil Service Police Unit and the Firefighters Department. Kerinci Regency. This type ofresearch uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression methods. Data collection techniquesusing questionnaires, observation and interviews. Respondents of this study were 55 employees at the CivilService Police Unit and the Kerinci District Firefighters Department. The sampling method used was themethodtotal sampling where the entire population in this study was used as the research sample. Hypothesis testing iscalculated using the IBM Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) program version 24.0.From the resultsof this study it is found that partially competence has a significant effect on employee performance, workdiscipline has a significant effect on employee performance, work ethic has a significant effect on employeeperformance, and simultaneously competence, work discipline, and work ethic together have a significant effecton performance. officers of the Civil Service Police Unit and the Kerinci District Firefighter Department.
