ABSTRACT: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of emotional intelligence on organizationalcommitment by examining job satisfaction as a mediating variable.This research was conducted at theDepartment of Housing, Settlement Areas and Lands in Denpasar City, Bali, Indonesia. This research isclassified into quantitative research in the form of associative causality. The population in this study were 91employees with permanent status who then used the disproportionate stratified random sampling (probabilitysampling) method in determining the sample so that 74 employees were still sampled. The data analysistechniques used are Path Analysis and Sobel Test. The results showed that emotional intelligence has a positiveand significant effect on organizational commitment, job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect onorganizational commitment, emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, andjob satisfaction mediates the effect of emotional intelligence on organizational commitment.
