THE IMPACT OF TEACHER PERFORMANCE ON EDUCATION QUALITY IN DARUTTAQWA ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL

ABSTRACT : Islamic boarding schools are still considered less able to compete in formal education that only afew alumnus are interested in continuing their education to state or favorite universities. There are only a fewIslamic boarding schools in Indonesia that are still able to compete with other public schools in terms of formalsubjects, but this cannot be used as a reference to state that islamic boarding schools can compete with publicschools. This has made several Islamic boarding schools declare themselves as modern Islamic boarding schoolthat are ready to compete with public schools, one of which is Daruttaqwa Islamic Boarding School. This studyaims to determine the impact of teacher performance on the quality of education in Daruttaqwa IslamicBoarding School. The analytical method used in this study uses a structural equation model-partial least square(SEM-PLS). The results of the SEM analysis show that the teacher performance variable in the study is impactdby teacher competence and organizational culture, then teacher performance affects the quality of education.The recommended strategies include the need for training for teachers, helping teachers to obtain domestic andforeign scholarships, the need to simulate the formation of lesson plans at the beginning of each semester,requesting assistance from both the government and related institutions, recruiting new teachers, and do familygatherings or outbound activities.
